Missouri Rush Soccer Club's Player of the Month

Player of the Month

Player of the Month

Missouri Rush and Signature Medical Group have teamed up to recognize one female and one male player each month as the Club’s Player of the Month!

Being recognized as Player of the Month is not just about what a player does on the field. It is a way of spotlighting players for numerous reasons. Each player is nominated and then selected based on the feedback of the coaching staff. Players' have shown qualities that lend towards our Core Values. Whether on the field or off the field, Rush players' should always exhibit these core values and conduct themselves in a positive way.

1. What is my favorite thing about Rush?

I like rush because of the opportunities that have been opened up to me. If I hadn’t joined Rush, I definitely would not be where I am right now and I am truly grateful for that.

2. What is my favorite memory since joining Rush soccer?

My favorite memory since joining Rush is the ECNL’s trip to Phoenix, Arizona back in February. We played great but had an unfortunate loss in pks for our last game. Overall the trip was amazing and I can’t wait to do it again next year.

3. What core value do you like the most and why?

A core value I like the most is Unity. A team can’t function if only one person is trying. Everyone needs to give their all. We all need to be unified and work together to accomplish our goals in soccer and to be the best versions of ourselves.

2. What is my favorite memory since joining Rush soccer?

My favorite memory about Rush soccer is our team's first out-of-town tournament last year in Springfield, MO.  I had a lot of fun with my team.

3. What core value do you like the most and why?

My favorite core value is Passion because if you do not have passion, it is impossible to have any of the other core values.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Rush Soccer?
A: My favorite thing about Rush is how it’s like a family and all the teams and coaches work together to make each other better.
Q: What is your favorite memory since joining Rush Soccer?
A: My favorite memories since joining Rush are all the small moments at games, practices, and tournaments where I’m just having fun and laughing with my teammates and coaches.
Q: What Core Value do you like the most and why?
A: My favorite core value is UNITY because soccer is a team sport and if you don’t have unity then you’re never going to win. I also wouldn’t be the player or the person I am today without my teammates.

Coach's Comments:

"She spent 80% of the season rehabbing to get back to game shape after an injury. She came to every training, sat in the cold, rain, took stats at the game, and kept grinding.

This past weekend we went to Memphis and it was her first weekend back. She made a huge impact in the middle of the field for us. Super proud of all her hard work to get back to the field."

Q: What is your favorite thing about Rush Soccer?
A: I really like the club because of the coaches, especially my head coach Bob Cadwell because he’s always helping me get better and has helped me be the player I am today. The coaches take soccer seriously but they also make it fun. I like that they provide extra training and we can go up to the fields, which are really nice and well maintained, and practice anytime we want to.
Q: What is your favorite memory since joining Rush Soccer?
A: I have a lot of good memories. My favorite is when our Rush team won the Winter Classic tournament in 2021. Coach Bob said we all played really well but we had one plaque and they named me MVP and let me keep it for the entire team. I have it on my dresser.  I do know that it takes an entire team to win and I really like and respect all of my teammates. They are all awesome and it takes all of us working together and playing well to win games.
Q: What Core Value do you like the most and why?
A: It’s hard to pick one because they are all important but the one that stands out to me is LEADERSHIP. I try and encourage our team to work as hard as we can when we’re at practice and listen to Coach Bob. I also ask my teammates to go up to the Rush fields and practice more.
I don’t only want to get better as a player but I also want to get better as a team because I know we’re all passionate about the game and want us to win as many tournaments and games as we can while demonstrating good sportsmanship.
I also think ACCOUNTABILITY is important because you won’t get better if you don’t hold yourself accountable. I’m always happy when I do well but I talk to my Coach and dad when I don’t do well so I can improve.

Coach's Comments:

Karson continually shows leadership on and off the field. Not only is he a tremendous athlete and top forward in his age group but Karson displays great leadership off the field. He is always reaching out to other teammates wanting to hang out outside of soccer to get to know them better on a personal level. He also reaches out to teammates to go and train on their own and work on things that can better their own individual and team performance. To be great at anything you do, you must put in the work, and Karson not only does that, but he leads others to work hard as well. He shows examples of several Rush Core Values, Leadership, Respect, Accountability, Tenacity, Unity, and most importantly Enjoyment.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Rush Soccer?
A: My favorite thing about Rush soccer is being part of a hardworking, driven, passionate team and learning the game of soccer from great coaches.

Q: What is your favorite memory since joining Rush Soccer?
A: My favorite memory since joining  Rush Soccer is running off the field and hugging my dad after we won the D1 Championship last Spring.

Q: What Core Value do you like the most and why?
A: The Core Value that I like the most is Tenacity.  My team and I learned early on to work hard from the opening whistle to the last whistle in both games and practices. When I give my best effort in games and never give up, the final score has less impact on my feelings after the game.   Giving great effort produces great advantages.

"Lou is a very hard-working player who continues to excel due to her positive work ethic during training.  Additionally, she works on these skills at home and applies them in the games.  She is a very coachable player and I am excited to watch her continued growth in the game.  Congratulations to Lou Lally for being named Missouri Rush Player of the Month." ~ Geoff Lorimier (Girls DOC 7v7)

A: Winning the Show-Me Showdown tournament in overtime PK’s with my goal

Q: What Core Value do you like the most and why?

"Jackson is deserving of this achievement for the boys player of the month as he is always giving his best. He works tremendously hard in every practice and game no matter what the score is. He exemplifies the Rush core values of Leadership, Passion, and Tenacity. His Leadership on and off the field to help make the players around him better are top-notch and therefore was named Captain of the team. His passion for the game is unlike any other, always wanting to train and get extra touches on the ball, and never complains about training. He also trains and plays with great tenacity every moment on the pitch."  ~ Joe Wyland (boys DOC 9v9 & Junior 11v11)
