WHAT IS PRE-ECNL?

Pre-ECNL is the Elite Clubs National League's program for younger boys and girls, built to prepare players for ECNL and ECNL Regional League soccer, which begin at U13.

Teams are matched with others at a similar stage of development, and compete in leagues and in weekend events and cups held alongside ECNL competition across the country. The goal is better and more diverse competition, elite coaching and training for young players, and an early look at what the ECNL environment feels like.

WHY Choose PRE-ECNL?

The right challenge at the right age sets up everything that comes after. ECNL and ECNL Regional League start at U13, and Pre-ECNL is the on-ramp, so players arrive already used to the pace, structure and expectations.

Players are matched with teams at a similar stage of development, get an early look at ECNL-style events and cups, and compete against clubs from across the country, in a program built to raise coaching and training standards. It is also the first step toward ECNL showcases, where hundreds of college coaches come together.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Should Players Bring?

Players should expect to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ID Sessions, in dark athletic attire (preferably black) with a pumped up ball, cleats and shin guards. Additionally, all players are required to bring sufficient water to stay hydrated. Upon arrival, all players should confirm their registration at the registration tables.

What should we expect?

At these sessions, players will be evaluated based on their abilities from the minute they walk on until they leave the pitch. Depending on the number of players in attenadance, we may not be able to offer direct feedback immediately upon the completion of the sessions. Our goal is to provide feedback for each player within a few days after the sessions, including asking them to attend further sessions when necessary.

Who can attend these Sessions?

All players looking to compete on a Pre-ECNL team this spring should attend the session for their respective age group. Internal Player and External Players will be evaluated the same, based on their abilities from the start til the end of each session.

Is Pre-Registration Required?

We strongly encourage everyone who is interested in these sessions to register prior to the event, as it will create a smoother environment for players upon arrival. However, if you need assistance registering, or have been asked to attend a follow-up sessions, one of our team members would be happy to support you. Please reach out to our Director of Operations, Alex Riggs at Ariggs@morushsoccer.com for all registration inquiries.
